A quick promise, from one who makes no promises.

August 18, 2011

It is a difficult balance for me to strike, the desire to express my dissatisfaction and my ignorance about certain issues.  On one side I find it incredibly frustrating to listen to disinformation that people utilize to fuel their agendas, but on the other I acknowledge that one should not have to have a Masters in politics and sociology to have a part to play in governance.  Everyone is entitled to their opinion, no matter how dangerously foolish it may be.  Be that as it may, I will be the first to admit that I am new at this game.  There are many grey areas in my knowledge base that need to be filled out, but I refuse to let my current ignorance hinder me from attempting to enlighten myself or better my situation.  Those things I do not know, I will be open to exploring.  I will listen to opposing viewpoints and strive to understand the value behind them.   I will debate unabashedly to my utmost ability, and admit my fallacy in the face of a stronger argument.  I will strive for logic and fact in my arguments, rather than bowing to emotions or moral judgments.

One must explore the possibilities before one can discover their beliefs.  So bear with me, and I will bear you.
